We were recently approached by a client who wanted to have an unusual celebration cake designed for an upcoming Birthday, a replica of the famous St. Edwards Crown, a priceless heirloom piece originally designed for the British monarchy in 1661. The St. Edwards Crown may look familiar if you’ve tuned into Royal news lately, as it is the official crown of Queen Elizabeth, who just celebrated the 60th anniversary of her coronation last week. The Crown made a rare public appearance out for the coronation jubilee celebrations last week, which marks the first time in 60 years of it being seen formally outside of the crown jewels collection. The Crown also made it’s appearance right here in the ‘Queen City’, in the form of cake! We love to create designs that are unique and can be seen as true works of art, we think this lovely crown replica definitely ‘takes the cake’! We loved the theme of the birthday, and after Monster’s Inc. who would not want a cute cuddly monster theme.
Here is a sweet twist on a birthday cake for a Fudge Round addict. We ended up buying several boxes for scientific research Although, the fudge rounds are tasty, we still lean towards the twinkies and ho ho’s. What’s your go-to wrapped dessert?
Do you remember these cute lyrics from a song long, long ago. Well, here is our “doggie in the window”. We created this cute doggie cake among other cakes and placed them in our “window” to entertain and inspire visitors and bystanders about cakes. Yes, we get nose and hand prints on the window, and have to clean the windows regularly, but we see it as a small price to pay for appreciation.
Our clients want cakes, like these, where there was great thought and effort into the design of the cake to show the recipient that they are special and that an ordinary cake just wouldn’t do. They want the cake to touch the heart and have a lasting memory attached to them. Special thanks to Love Shutter Photography for their time and pictures.
With all of the hype in the news about getting snow last night, we wanted to know- Where was all the Snow? With reports of two inches, four inches, or more in snow, we figured it would be a great time to unveil our snowman photographer cake. We made this cake for Love Shutter Photography’s christmas party.

We were asked to make a special cake for a member of a church group. This group meets, shares their joys and struggles, studies the bible, and prays for each other. One of their members who always volunteers to provides all of the refreshments was having a birthday and the group wanted to honor his birthday with a cake of his passion: Wine. We found a quote that epitomized their feelings for their friend, “Friends are like wine; they get better with age.”
