Trendy Bride NC Magazine Feature

At Wow Factor Cakes, we’re fortunate to be a part of a wonderful wedding and event community in Charlotte and we simply love partnering with our fellow vendors! We’re looking forward to showing you the styled shoots we’ve been a part of recently – we promise they will WOW you!

Last week we showed you the dreamy blush and gold  styled shoot at Separk Mansion. This week’s feature is a little more modern! The kind folks at Trendy Bride NC showcased our shoot in their magazine and it is brimming with beautiful colors, modern elegance and of course, wonderful vendors.

Expertly styled by Ivy Robinson with beautiful images captured by  Crystal Stokes Photography , we  loved being part of this stunning photo shoot!

We created a unique cake that was nestled inside a “cage” made of blades of grass. The cake was placed on an acrylic cake stand which coordinated with the ghost chairs and overall modern feel of the shoot.

To match the deep purple orchids used in the flowers and as the models headpieces, we created sugar orchids to adorn the top tiers of the cake. We hand cut sugar circles to form a sphere for the top of the cake.

Vote for LOVE!

An election themed wedding…

Who could ask for a better theme for a wedding in an election year?

Wow Factor designed the cake for this patriotic wedding to resemble the wedding invitations and menu.

The Charlotte wedding was featured on the bridal inspirations blog Style Me Pretty on November 5th.

Thanks for Theo Miles Photography for making this presidential couple look beautiful and making the cake look deliciously gorgeous!

“He Put A Ring On It”

Congratulations on your engagement!

As  Beyonce’ says, “He Put A Ring On It”. Well,….….we want details!

We want to hear about the proposal in your comments. It is time to brag about the craziest or sweetest request for your hand in marriage and you can  win a free cake for the engagement party or as we are now calling it, the “He Put A Ring On It” party.

My moment occurred almost 22 years ago, when my husband had snuck my ring into the frozen yogurt that I was eating. As the yogurt was melting in my mouth with the ring, I knew something was not right. Fortunately, I did not swallow the ring and end up at the emergency room . As soon as I saw it, I forgave him and said “Yes”. I told you my story, so let’s hear about yours.

So if you were given a ring between Christmas last year or yesterday on Valentine’s day, put your story in the comments and we will choose a winner on March 1st. You will win the cake in the picture above- with whatever color combination you want and your choice of delicious cake and fillings that we offer for your “He Put A Ring On It” party. (Do you really need an excuse to have a party?)
